Plays music of Latin America with particular focus on Afro-Caribbean music and its performance practices. This ensemble plays music of Latin America with particular focus on Afro-Caribbean music and its performance practices. Students will have an opportunity to perform, improvise, arrange and compose in a variety of styles such as Son, Danzon, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo, Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Timba. The ensemble will perform at least one concert per semester and occasionally will perform at other activities on and off campus.
